Station Hand Grade 1

With us you will acquire & develop the more traditional facets of cattle handling that are fading across the industry but in high demand in day to day management. You will also be required to assist in the daily routine associated with the upkeep of vehicles, motorbikes, station plant & all other aspects of daily station life.

Overview:

Whilst cattle work is the primary role of this position other duties will also include areas of maintenance to support the facets above & general station life on the property.

Mustering of livestock is usually conducted during the winter months depending on seasonal conditions. This position also includes the opportunity to handle and work our young horses that have been started under saddle in preperation for the campdrafting season or sale.

During this time you will develop some of the more traditional facets of cattle management rarely used in today's modern world of planes, helicopters & Agricultural Certificates.

All our mustering is performed on motorbikes with the additional use of horses when tailing cattle. 

The position description is of a general nature & you may be required to use initiative on occasions to assist fellow employees. 

This position requires communication, observation and initiative, including the ability to work in a team environment with all members of staff.

The days can be long, hot, dusty and physical.
